My name is Kristen Kolzow, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I’ve been licensed for 15 years working primarily with children/adolescents and young adults. I earned my bachelors in psychology at the University of the Pacific and my masters in social work at Loyola University of Chicago.
My primary theoretical orientation is cognitive behavioral treatment. Within that framework I have extensive background training in a variety of therapy techniques including trauma focused, mindfulness and aggression replacement.
My goal for each client is to listen to their story and be present for them. Using solution-focused approaches I will work with you to overcome whatever obstacles are keep you from having the life you want. Your story is what you have, what you will always have. It is something to own, take more control over and embrace new life and new beginnings. I’m willing to be with you through your journey, as scary as it may be, affording you a first real opportunity to reflect and have a voice and help you move forward.
