I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with a private practice in California. I received a  college degree in Sociology from National Taiwan University and MSW degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I provide psychotherapy for individuals by employing cognitive behavioral, person-centered therapy, and psychodynamic and humanistic therapy modes.

Before starting my private practice, I had an extensive background as an adoption/foster care social worker for public and private social service agencies and gained tremendous work experience with children, families, and couples as well as issues such as infertility counseling, and issues involving attachment, grieving, and abandonment.

I have always had a special affection and rapport with children with disabilities, trauma, anxiety, and behavior abnormalities. As a parent of two adult children with different disabilities (Asperger’s and ADHD) who currently attend a prestigious college, I also have special interests in parenting issues for families with children with disabilities. Other special interests include bereavement therapy, trauma, life transitions, spirituality (Christianity), and other family issues. I am bilingual – English and Chinese (Mandarin).

I take a primarily non-pathological view of psychotherapy and try to honor each individual’s unique  characteristics and strengths. My greatest professional reward comes from helping people to live the lifestyle they desire and reach their future goals.
